History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History:
His Wiki page gives out the basics
Hashirama started out as a member of the Senju clan, who, like any other shinobi clan before them, were mercenary assassins hired to fight somebody else’s battles. He is the older brother of Senju Tobirama, whom he usually fights alongside with, their attacks fluidly coordinated and reminiscent of admirable teamwork. Then, as leader of the Senju, Hashirama helped his clan carve out a name for themselves as one of the two most powerful clans in the world, on equal footing with the more battle-hungry Uchiha.
As a result of this power and status in the shinobi world, the Senju and Uchiha were almost always pitted against one another, hired by opposing sides of any battle. The constant endless fighting, however, eventually led the Senju to grow tired of it, and also since they may have realized a more favorable political solution, prompted Hashirama, along with his clan, to approach the Uchiha with a truce, taking the first steps in a revolution to come. Hashirama did not share Madara’s lust for blood and power. Being a man of peace, and also realizing the extraordinary potential that would result from the two clans uniting, Hashirama would use his diplomatic prowess to convince the Uchiha to agree to the truce. This truce would then lead to the foundations of Konohagakure no Sato, the very landscape of the village molded and created by Hashirama himself, as a result of his unique ninjutsu.
Sometime before Konoha was founded, and while Hashirama was still leader of his clan, he married Uzumaki Mito of Uzushiogakure, a strong kunoichi who demonstrated special skill in fuinjutsu (sealing techniques) that were unique to her clan. The marriage was made in order to strengthen the already existing close ties between the two clans, a gesture of goodwill. Despite the marriage being made mostly as a political match, the two did love each other. According to canon, Mito states, years later to her successor as the host of the nine-tailed fox, that “[They] came here to be the vessels of the nine-tails, but before that one must find love and fill the vessel with it. Do that and even the host of the nine-tails can live a happy life…” --indicating that they would have had a solid relationship as husband and wife.
Eventually, after Konoha was formed with the combined effort of the Senju and Uchiha, it was realized that a shinobi village had to have a leader. Hashirama was elected to this position over Uchiha Madara, a move that the latter felt would only serve to oppress the Uchiha. Opposing this decision, Madara moved out of the village… Only to return with the Kyuubi (a fearsome mass of destructive energy) in his possession, intent on challenging Hashirama; a rematch, because Uchiha Madara considered it an insult to stand ‘second’ to the Senju.
At first, the rematch between the two rivals looked as if the scales were tipped in Madara’s favor because not only did Madara possess the eternal mangekyo sharingan, but he also had control of the nine-tailed demon fox. Yet Hashirama was able to defeat Madara, and gain control of the Kyuubi for a moment -- which is when his wife Mito would seal the raging mass inside herself and become the first host for the Kyuubi. This in itself gained Konoha, as a whole, an advantage, because having a tailed beast in one’s position is akin to a nation owning an arsenal of nuclear weapons. It was a source of political power, a weapon that could be used both for preventive as well as preemptive purposes.
During his term as Hokage, Hashirama also gained control of many other tailed beasts that he distributed among the other shinobi nations as a means of balancing out power. Despite Hashirama’s efforts to maintain the peace among the ninja world, the First Ninja war breaks out. He also comes across a scroll filled with secret forbidden techniques that he seals away in order to prevent its misuse.
Hashirama is killed during battle sometime after the First Ninja War, but not before entrusting the title of Hokage to his brother Tobirama.
Point in Canon: Taken soon after his death [he is already dead at the beginning of the story]
Character Personality:
As the first leader of Konohagakure, a village that Senju Hashirama built upon an ideal and a dream, he has always been revered as the strongest shinobi of his time. His strength and skill as a shinobi was so vast that he holds responsibility for sculpting the landscape of the village itself, for being able to heal himself without the use of any hand seals, and also for being able fight man to man with the fearsome Uchiha Madara (who had both the eternal mangekyo sharingan and the nine-tailed demon fox on his side) and still win. However, at the end of the day, it was not merely his abilities as a shinobi that allowed him to become leader of the many clans he had brought together in Konoha. Where he was almost equally matched with Uchiha Madara on the aspect of skill, it was Hashirama’s deep sense of loyalty and his caring nature, his wisdom and strength of heart that tipped the scales and won him the vote for Hokage. While he has become an almost legendary figure to his people, he is also remembered and honored for the love and loyalty that he showed his people during his time as Hokage.
In a nutshell, Hashirama’s personality may be compared to a great tree: roots deeply embedded in Konoha, his loyalty to his people running well below the surface, branches spreading out as far as they can go protectively, the Will of Fire burning for the generations to come. And the trunk: steady, unshakeable, but not invincible.
Hashirama is hailed as a revolutionary leader of his time, well known for his charisma, an attribute that, along with his skill in negotiation, made him an exceptional leader of his clan. It was under Hashirama’s leadership that the Senju clan reached its peak, grabbing the limelight as the strongest clan at the time, rivals only to the powerful and battle-hungry Uchiha.
He is also shrewd, politically. Coming from an era where ninja were merely hired assassins paid to do a politician’s dirty work and where shinobi clans fought and sought to outdo each other in order to grab the limelight on the battlefield, Hashirama saw his fair share of war, meaningless fighting, death, and despair. What he experienced was enough that, despite his feared reputation as the strongest shinobi of his time, Hashirama found himself more inclined to settling things the peaceful way, avoiding bloodshed whenever he could later on, striking deals with other nations and clans instead. He was also very aware of the fact that the combined strength of shinobi from various strong clans would be a greater advantage to them in that the shinobi world could find a means of stable income with set rules and negotiations between their patron nations. His political prowess and shrewdness made it possible to finally approach the Uchiha and work out a truce, ending the years-long bloodshed. Not only would this diplomatic move help him further in establishing Konohagakure no Sato, but the promise of peace that came with the revolution easily gained him more respect and admiration from the people.
At some point in his life when he was Hokage, Hashirama gained control over several tailed beasts, all of which he distributed among the other shinobi villages as a means to equalize power. This was his safeguard against attracting too much envy from the neighboring nations, a situation that could have severely disrupted the peace. Again, it was in Hashirama’s foresight to not succumb to the temptation of grabbing all the power, but to compromise and negotiate for the greater good.
Senju Hashirama was also known to be a calm and collected individual, not prone to rash and impulsive behavior, not easily angered. He would be expected to harbor a great deal of tolerance too, as well as an open mind, personality traits that somewhat mirrored the earth element, and was in contrast to the element of fire-- something that his greatest rival, Uchiha Madara, possessed. While aware of the importance of power to a shinobi, Hashirama has never let that alone rule his life. Neither did he encourage this among his people. The difference between Madara and himself could be seen here, where the former took his loss during the election for the position of Hokage as a threat to his clansmen (the Uchiha with their rare and powerful bloodline limit), while Hashirama never wanted to draw lines within their village and separate the clans in the first place. Despite Uchiha Madara deflecting from the village and returning with every intent to destroy Hashirama and prove himself worthy of the title of Hokage, Hashirama has always held a great respect for the man, an honorable trait where he is able to show respect where respect is due.
Hashirama also cares for his people from his heart. This is probably his strongest point. To him, family extends far beyond just the clan, but also to his comrades, and the people of Konoha. And for this family he is willing to put his life on the line, protecting what he loves regardless of the price he has to pay for it: a selfless goal. This is, in essence, Hashirama’s view of what a Kage should be; if one did not feel for one’s people, if their hearts did not beat as one, then one was not worthy of being their leader. Hashirama considers his fellow countrymen the very substance he is made of, the parts that make up his body, the reason he lives and fights for. And with this view comes a deep seated loyalty-- a crucial attribute he asked of his people upon becoming Hokage, the only criterion that was required of the residents of Konoha for them to consider themselves as belonging to the village. It was his idea to establish a common goal, something like a national identity for the people of Konoha to believe in, be proud of, protect, serve, and pass on. This ideal is what he would call ‘the Will of Fire’.
However, the fact that he cares so much about the people he serves could also turn into his greatest weakness. It was something Madara probably chose to exploit, because bringing in a tailed beast would ensure that Hashirama fight him one-on-one, and this is exactly what he did when he demanded a rematch between them for the title of Hokage.
Above all, it should be noted that Hashirama is a dreamer. Not just any dreamer, but one who strives to make those dreams reality. And yet his dreams are not utopian, for Hashirama, despite the peace treaties, fully recognizes the fact that “Whenever you live, there will always be war.” He is, therefore, also a realist, aware that the road ahead isn’t always a straight one.
Character Plans: His first concern would be to try and adapt to his situation at Siren’s Port. He may also take an interest in either of the two leading research companies. Having said that, he may choose to be neutral, find himself a job - perhaps in the medical field - until he gathers enough information about both companies before making any solid decision about either one. Being the man of politics that he is, I would suspect that he may choose to hold his decision for as long as possible as insurance against both parties~
I would also like to see him interact with other characters from the other worlds, especially those that are far more powerful than he is. He most likely would not be stirring up trouble, but it would be a continuous learning process for this ninja. Finding himself in a world of which he knows so little about in contrast to the one he was used to and enjoyed his seat of power, and learning to accept and cope with this change should be interesting to play out. It would almost be like going back to the humble beginnings. And he would, naturally, probably seek out a few of his own world.
Appearance/PB: In his armor and yes he can smile too~

The first day he had woken up in Siren’s Port, Hashirama could not stop wondering why anyone would bring back to life a man already cold in his grave only to throw him into a place far more dreary than the afterlife he had imagined. He was still mulling over the thought, trying to find any logic or reason, when the sirens that wailed to signal the onset of the Darkness had begun. It had made him stop for a fleeting moment in front of the apartment the man had kindly offered him. They sounded truly eerie, enough to make the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.
Hashirama was not afraid, but the ominous nature of the cry did not escape him. It was his gut feeling that let him know it was time he went inside. There was something about the way those sirens pierced the air that warned him not to stay outdoors a moment longer. As a shinobi, he was trained to read the unspoken signs, and this was definitely one of them.
...That was yesterday.
This morning he had woken up to the same keening call, and he was back in his apartment when he’d heard them once more at sunset.
Pre was sat at his desk, familiarizing himself with the communicator device when his room was suddenly plunged into an enveloping darkness. Hashirama turned to the window, noting how now there was nothing but inky blackness in place of the streets and dimly lit sky that had made his view only moments ago.
The shinobi rose to make his way over to the window, palm pressing against the cool glass. He squinted, trying to see, but could make out nothing of any significance.
...Until he notices how the shadows seem to take up a life of their own. And what was that dark shape creeping up from that manhole down the street?
Questions. They filled his mind. Almost as fast as the decay that crawled over the streets below him.
"You have my attention, Siren's Port..." The words are murmured against the glass as he observes further, the Darkness seeping into every crack and crevice like a river retreating after the floods, carrying death with it in its murky waters.
If anything, Hashirama needed to know what he was dealing with. To not be clued in was a great disadvantage, something he vowed to fix as soon as possible.

Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities:
Hashirama possesses great skill in ninjutsu (chakra based techniques), taijutsu (hand-to-hand combat), as well as genjutsu (illusiory techniques) and fuinjutsu (sealing techniques) as is to be expected of a Hokage. His specialties include:
- Bringer-of-darkness technique - a genjutsu that brings about blindness over the target, allowing the attacker to approach said target without being seen. The only sense this technique bars is sight, while all other senses are unaffected. The genjutsu can be dispelled by landing a single hit on the attacker.
- Wood release: secret technique – Nativity of a world of trees - a technique founded by Hashirama which enables him to force the growth of trees from literally any surface, using his earth and water elements to manipulate his chakra. He is also able to manipulate these trees as he sees fit, changing the entire terrain, and choosing to use the technique as an attack or defense. This is also the ninjutsu he used in the creation of Konoha’s landscape, and happens to be his trademark as well as one of his most formidable techniques. Furthermore, the trees may release pollen from their flowers which, if inhaled, will render the victim unconscious. The technique can be countered by either destroying the trees, staying elevated above the level of pollen dispersal, or if the target has enough willpower to dispel the effect.
- Hokage Style Elder Jutsu: Kakuan’s Tenth Edict on Enlightenment - a technique that requires a wood release as well as a crystal gem (which Hashirama wears around his neck and responds to his chakra). This jutsu basically enables him to control a tailed beast, rendering Senju Hashirama one of the very few people with the ability to gain complete control over a tailed beast.
- Medical ninjutsu requires excellent chakra control, and Hashirama was capable of medical ninjutsu at a very advanced level, enabling him to heal himself without the use of seals. However, it should be noted that, according to canon, he is said to have died during battle. Therefore, despite his healing abilities, Hashirama is not infallible. His healing depends on his chakra reserves, and once those run out, he could be severely injured.
- Seals and summons - Hashirama could carry an arsenal of weapons but not require a thousand belts and pockets to hold it in. Instead, he could summon them from a scroll he carries with him, the scroll containing seals for such weapons. Having said that, it should be noted that he is able to use a range of swords.
- Contract seal - He was able to intercept Uchiha Madara’s control over Kurama (the nine-tailed demon fox) during their final battle. The technique requires close contact with the summoner as well as the summoner’s blood. The effects are temporary and the technique is most likely used to gain an advantage over the situation at the time.
Weapons:
Hashirama uses basic shinobi gear including shuriken (sharp bladed objects that can be thrown) as well as kunai (knife-like tools that could be used in close range hand-to-hand combat as well as thrown)
He is also seen using a katana.
Hashirama has the ability to summon a range of swords from his scroll of seals
Most of his attacks are chakra-based, though, and are outlined in the Abilities section above.
